Facial Recognition Uses / CCPA and GDPR Compliance

Knowing exactly who is in or near your home or business is indispensable information. That is why Amaryllo’s biometric Facial Recognition technology is essential in our customers’ quests to stay informed.

We allow users to train their cameras to recognize up to 10 saved faces*. In a home security scenario, this could be the difference between knowing whether or not it is a loved one knocking on your door, or if it is someone who you would rather not confront. The app also supports functionality to remotely sound an alarm and quickly connect with an emergency contact.

Amaryllo recognizes that for certain purposes, there are legislatures that must be complied with. Amaryllo is CCPA and GDPR compliant, and the “CCPA/GDPR Compliant” setting within our application will ensure that you can be, too. With the setting turned on, any faces that are detected will be obfuscated. Any faces that were previously detected will also be obfuscated when viewed within the Notifications tab within the app.

The instructions below outline how to turn on the “CCPA/GDPR Compliant” setting in the app.

1. Select the “Settings” icon.

2. Tap “AI Recognition”.

3. Select “Face recognition”.

4. Set the “CCPA/GDPR Compliant” setting to the on position.

*Users can store up to 4 faces on our Free and Basic plans and up to 10 faces on our Plus and Multi-camera plans.
